Tour of Culpeper History: Civil War Culpeper Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

revutin-5: This one has gone missing again. Unfortunately, it seems this area isn’t “sticking” as a good GZ and so we’re archiving this one. Sorry all.

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed as part of a Girl Scout Silver Award project. It is a series of three caches taking you on a tour through three stages of Culpeper history. This is a traditional cache bringing you to Lenn Park in Culpeper County. Please observe park hours and rules as posted.

There was a battle at Lenn Park between the Union and the Confederates during the Civil War. The Union won against a small force of Confederates because they were much bigger. The flags are on opposite sides of the battle field so you can see where the battle started. There is a plaque you can read for more information on the battle. You should be able to see the nearby flagpole a short stroll from the posted coordinates.

The cache itself should not present a challenge for most geocachers.

This cache has been placed with permission from the Culpeper County Parks & Recreation Department.
