Geocache Description:

The drive along the Midland Highway can be a long one, especially with young children in the car. Fortunately there are many sights to keep young travellers occupied along the way, including many interesting towns along the route, the topiary at St Peter's Pass, and all manner of wildlife and livestock in the pastures alongside the road.

Of course, having a cache or two to track down along the way doesn't hurt either!

When searching for this cache, be sure to take a moment to check your surroundings - you never know when you may get lucky and spot one of Tasmania's more elusive native species...

This cache was placed on 7 September 2019 in recognition of National Threatened Species Day. This date recognises the loss of one of Australia's iconic fauna species - the last of which perished exactly 83 years prior to the placement of this cache - as well as the many other species currently threatened with extinction. The cache you're looking for is a round container, the size of a small jar.
