Geocache Description:

Located along the beautiful Bay Trail, this cache is a quick find in an amazing place! Please bring your own pen. There is enough space in the container for small tradeable items and trackables. This cache is named after and dedicated to a beloved family pooch :)

The saltwater wetlands you see lining the bay are one of the most biologically productive habitats on the planet and are an incredibly important ecosystem. They act as some shielding from storms, filters toxins in the water, and is home to a plethora of species that call the marshes home. Sadly, human activity has ruined these areas due to filling and building, along with the release of pets and pollutant toxins. Recent restoration acts have helped rebuild these incredible places, but there is still much that needs to be done to fix the damage that has been caused.
