Black film canister.
Three realy nice points of interest here - each with its own Blue Plaque:
1. In front of you is Salem Chapel. Built in 1791 by the Rev Edward Parsons, Salem is the oldest surviving non-conformist chapel in Leeds city centre. Salem Chapel is a Grade II listed building and its distinctive curved façade was added in 1906.The historic chapel was the birthplace of Leeds United Football Club in 1919. Salem’s hall was the venue for a public meeting in which Leeds City F.C. was disbanded over financial misdemeanours, and Leeds United F.C. was formed.
2. To your left is The Tetley - a centre for contemporary art located in the stunning art deco headquarters of the former Tetley Brewery.
3. And to your right is Crown Point Bridge - Louis Aimé Augustin Le Prince, a French artist and the inventor of an early motion picture camera filmed the first ever moving images on Leeds Bridge in 1888 which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3AbI6rs8XQ
