An easy regular sized traditional cache on an idyllic sandy beach on an idyllic tropical island.
Atauro Island offers awesome eco-tourism and is arguably Timor-Leste’s premier tourist destination. Conservation International recently reported that Atauro has the world’s most biodiverse coral reefs (based on a count of individual fish species). This makes Atauro an amazing, though relatively undiscovered scuba or snorkelling location. The island also offers great hiking with towering volcanic mountains. Accommodation options are limited but a couple of charming ecolodges provide tropical tranquility. Atauro is relatively easily accessed from Dili by ferry or water taxi.
The cache is on the beachside boundary of Barry’s Place ecolodge. Barry, himself has graciously offered to be cache guardian.
