If you have you ever had an Advent Calendar you will know that you open a numbered door each day from 1st December to Christmas Eve. Behind each door is a surprise, often chocolate but have you wondered why we have Advent Calendars and what Advent is all about? The word Advent comes from the Latin 'adventus' which means 'arrival' or 'coming'. Yes Christmas is coming and Advent is the countdown time ( there is more to it then that ) but lets kick off the countdown to Christmas here on this first Sunday of Advent, with a caching blether,swopping our years caching adventure stories and TB's over a festive lunch or just a coffee.
