Geocache Description:

To the north and east you are looking at 30 acres of farm ground being irrigated by a below ground drip system.  The first field experiments conducted on this drip irrigation method were based on subsurface drip irrigation in trials conducted by Israeli agronomists at the end of the 1950s. Colorado’s high, dry environment is an ideal candidate for this type of irrigation water management.

As an irrigation management tool, it enables precise control over the root zone environment of a crop. This control often results in consistently high yields. In addition, better water and fertilizer management help reduce fertilizer inputs, water usage, and runoff. Once installed, the system remains in place year-round.

As you look out at the field right now, what stage of the growth cycle are you seeing?

Note: Most of the time this cache is available, but winter snowstorm drifting is always a possibility and might block access. yay to quinnster212 as FTF
