ABOUT THE CACHE: This was the first of four geocaches placed on the Grey Squirrel Trail in Sept 2019. This cache is a large bison tube and has room for a bit of small swag. Use the 20 foot radius rule due to the forest readings on the GPS, although coords are fairly close (updated 11/18/19). There is a 20 year commemorative trackable charm attached to this cache - please do not remove, but simply log it as discovered. Thanks!
ABOUT GREY SQUIRREL TRAIL: This trail is secluded, but holds some rare beauty in the park. The trail boasts wild grapes hanging from vines in the trees (in the summer/fall), some of the largest poison oak vines I have ever seen, and a small creek of its own. There is a portion which winds through a unique, and almost eerie, forest. You will encounter deer, turkeys, and rabbits. If you venture off the trail a bit, you will find some interesting rocks in the very back of the park. Take your time to enjoy this trail!
ABOUT HIDDEN FALLS: Hidden Falls is one of my favorite places to hike locally. Hoping these caches will encourage others to explore the secluded parts of the park, and get some of the veterans back out to the park for more hides. A $8 reservation for using the park is required if visiting on the weekend or holidays. It is worth it though, and keeps the park from getting too busy, which in turn lets your soul heal again in the quiet.
