Red Mountain Road by-passes the lookout on the highway South of Silverton. The North end starts just outside town, It angles back for a bit, then climbs steeply in three segments. Once on top the road is paved along a fairly level section and down all the way to the highway. The road is significantly less steep on the South end.
This park'n'grab cache is hidden near a fairly large pullout on the lower side of the road in an area where there are no driveways or houses.
