Geocache Description:

Acknowledgement of Country: I would like to pay my respects to the First People: the traditional custodians of the lands and waterways of Ngunnawal, Ngunawal and Ngambri Country. I would like to acknowledge that this geocache has been placed on what always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

At WP1, the posted coordinates, you will find an information sign titled 'Healthier Waterways.' Answer the following:

A = The six-digit phone number in the bottom-left is 13 22 8A

B = How many humans (including adults and children) are standing next to the house?

C = Underneath the subheading, 'Wetlands,' are 10 lines of text. Using letter values (A=1, B=2, C=3, Z=26), what is the value of the following letter: 7th line, 3rd word, 9th letter?

D = There are circles on the sign that contain photos of plants. How many of these circular photos are there?

E = Underneath the title, 'Healthier Waterways,' there is a subtitle consisting of five words. What is the letter value of the following letter: 5th word, 1st letter?

F = How many dogs are standing next to the house?

The final cache is not far away at S35 20.ABC E149 09.DEF.

The new wetland development in Narrabundah has recently opened to the public; which of course, warrants a new miniseries of caches! When I out went for a walk from my house I was pleasantly surprised to find this beautiful new area. A few years ago this area was nothing but overgrown grass and trees. The local Lions Club used to label this area as being a part of the Mills Creek Rehabilitation Project; and for many years, this area certainally didn't look rehabilitated! Appropriately, I used to own a GCA cache in this area called 'Rehabilitated?' in tribute of the timely quote by Morgan Freeman's character in The Shawshank Redemption - "Rehabilitated? It's just a bull**** word."

The new 420m long wetland includes a ~1.2m deep water pond in the middle of a looped bike walking/riding path. Seats, information signs, a picnic area and new tree saplings have also been added. The area has been turned in a beautiful new haven for wildlife (notably fish and large birds) and is an exception asset to local walkers, riders and dogs. In terms of environmental benefit, the wetland has been implemented to remove pollutants from the water in Jerrabomberra Creek before flowing further downstream. It is approximated that the wetland will remove 300,000kg of nitrogen, phosphorous and suspended solids every year from the flowing water every year.

To begin this miniseries of three, it is highly recommended that you begin at the parking lot at the oval to the north of the wetland. From there, you would then need to walk across the oval/grass to get to the first cache. It is recommended that you complete each cache in order so that you don't backtrack; and so you finish close to the where you started. This area is currently quite popular with walking/riding muggles; and at the moment, before the new saplings fully grow, the area is quite visibly open - therefore, please be stealthy when finding each cache. Additionally, between caches II and III, you might like to find Jerrabomberra Jetty (GC72APY) while you're in the area!
