There is a logging skid trail coming in from the road to the NE, but is a rough trail. Best route is to park on highway and bushwack up.
The What Cheer mine was organized in 1854. Began operations in 1855. Four shafts were sunk and mine produced good amounts of copper. Mine closed in 1860 for unknown reason.
Cache is set just downhill of one of the shafts.
