There’s a couple of different stories we’ve heard about how Monkey Creek got it’s name. One is that it was named for the large number of “monkey-bears” (koala’s) that the early settlers would see in this area, and there’s mention of this in very early newspaper reports of the journey between Tarraville and Sale... and the other story we’ve heard is that a bullock named Monkey died near this spot and is buried somewhere in the bush near here. Take your pick I guess! You’re looking for a micro suitably camouflaged to the surroundings that is neither a koala nor a bullock, but should hopefully get a smile. A pathtag awaits FTF. Enjoy!
