Tämän kätkön tarkoitus on esitellä suurehko siirtolohkare keskellä metsää.
Siirtolohkare eli hiidenkivi on iso kivi, jonka jääkauden aikainen mannerjää on kuljettanut mukanaan usein kauaksi emokalliosta. Alavilla alueilla siirtolohkareet ovat usein peittyneet muun maa-aineksen alle, mutta maastossa korkealla paikalla kivet ovat monesti säilyneet näkyvillä.
Tämä siirtolohkare on erikoinen siksi, että sen alla on aivan tasainen kivi. Tuntuu jopa vähän uskomattomalta, että tämä olisi pelkästään luonnon taideteos. Ettei vaan olisi joku aikojen saatossa käynyt laittamassa kiviä alle tueksi. Mutta mitenkäs tuo tasainen aluskivi?

The purpose of this cache is to present an erratic in the middle of a forest.
In geology an erratic is any material which is not native to the immediate locale but has been transported from elsewhere. The most common examples of erratics are associated with glacial transport, either by direct glacier-borne transport or by ice rafting.
this piece of an erratic is special because there is a smoot rock under neath the erratic. It actually feels a bit unbelievable that this piece of an erratic would be purely made by nature. Maybe someone has helped the nature a bit over the years and added some rock under the erratic for support. But, howabout the smooth rock under the erratic?
