This is a challenge cache so the cache is located at the posted coordinates but you must complete the challenge requirements in order to log your cache online as found.
The Purple Bison Challenge (PBC) series of caches encourage you to set and achieve fun goals as part of your geocaching adventures. There are two versions of each challenge: one meant to challenge geocaching beginners and the other meant to challenge geocaching veterans.
Cache Details:
The PBC cache series is hidden along the Buckfield/Hebron rail trail in Oxford County, Maine. Starting at the north, in the warmer weather, the trail can be driven on until you get to South Pond. The remaining part of the southern end of the trail is not open to cars or trucks. The trail is designed to support year round activities such as hiking, snowmobiles, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and wildlife observation.
The cache container and the hide is the same for all the caches - a winter friendly, hanging purple bison tube. The difficulty rating on the cache page is for the challenge; the cache hide difficulty is a 1.5.
Challenge Requirements:
- Find 10 caches that were published by 10 different reviewers.
- All cache finds past and present are allowed including archived caches.
- This cache doesn't count toward the challenge requirements.
- You can visit the final cache location at any time to sign the log but you may not log a “found it” on geocaching.com until you have fulfilled the challenge requirements.
