Geocache Description:

Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 4.0 ***(03/23/17) Please note the D/T rating of this cache as listed in this description. Unfortunately, Geocaching.com has decided to allow only 1.5 or less rated caches to appear on the new phone app. This will make it impossible for new to the game/prospective geocachers to be able to see my caches, without the purchase of a premium membership. As I have always chosen to make my geocache hides available to ALL geocachers (new, veteran, premium or basic members, etc.), I have no choice but to change the D/T rating to 1.5/1.5 so all can view my caches on the new app. The ratings above this note reflect the true rating of the cache*** ***(12/26/20) My first return to my first geocache since I placed it in 2002! Teamed up with Mikejf57 to hit the other peaks and caches and had to return to mine to get the partial coordinates for the mystery cache. All is good here. Ammo box is holding up very well. Contents are still plenty and decent. Logbook is getting close to full. But still about eight pages left. Considering the low visitation to this cache, it should last a number of years yet. Mine and Mikejf57 GPSs showed tight coordinates of 0-4’ at the cache. The stick on the high point is gone. But the high point of this peak is obvious. So the hint reference is still good. It’s hidden about as well as I originally placed it, covered with rocks. But slightly visible. All online logs correspond to the actual logbook to this date. There are a couple logs in the book not online.*** Howdy! Welcome to Team Ropingthewind's first geocache! After over 340 cache finds, we figured it was about time we hide one! This is your typical 'coordinates take you to the cache'. The container is an ammo box filled with some nice new stuff. It also contains a logbook and pen (however, as usual you should bring your own pen or pencil just in case this one stops working. We are old school and no log no find). Please sign the logbook and include the date and time you visited and any comments you wish to leave. Also, you team name should be consistent in the logbook as well as online (If 5 cachers sign the logbook as a 'caching crew' and then all individually log it online... your online logs will be deleted!). There are no exceptions! No log. No find. We will not note any details of this cache otherwise since we already gave you the coordinates. What more could you possibly need?! GPS's are just too accurate these days! :) We have always felt that the challenging part about geocaching was trying to find the best access/route to a cache site (where to park, where to start your hike, etc). So, we will leave that up to yall to figure out! However, we will provide a detailed encrypted hint below as we feel it is very unfair to have someone make such a rugged hike/climb to come out without a find. Geocaching is about the location, not the hide. We want you to enjoy the location, yet be able to find the cache easily. We hope you enjoy our first geocache. We had alot of fun placing it. It is well worth the visit. The cache container is hidden well. PLEASE return the container to the exact same hiding spot and please hide it as you found it. Thanks. Team Ropingthewind Scott, Brent, Eric
