Geocache Description:

This is our "Who Got the Baby?" cache. We took a baby, and we've FINALLY placed a cache. DO NOT FORGET YOUR MOSQUITO REPELLANT! By far, the worst mosquitos we have ever encoutered in 64 years of combined living experience!

Cache is located on Monkey Island near the mouth of the Calcasieu Ship Channel at Calcasieu Pass in sparsely populated Cameron Parish. Enjoy a drive through some of the prettiest and most biologically diverse terrain in south Louisiana to get to the cache. BRING YOUR MOSQUITO REPELLANT! They are thick and vicious! The cache can be reached by automotive vehicle. There is a ferry that runs service to the island. Once you're on the island by automobile you can reach it from the one road that runs across the island, but it will probably be quite an adventure in the summer. Boost the difficulty to a three if you approach on foot from the road! The cache can be reached by water vehicle, which is how it was placed. Beware as the river is subject to heavy traffic by very, very large boats. Also, the water near the island is extremely shallow. We never got our boat on the actual beach. We just jumped out and walked through ankle deep water to place it. Use caution and common sense.
