I guess that's why they call it, the blues Cache In Trash Out® Event

Geocache Description:

26 October 2019, 07:00 - 08:00

What: Two Part CITO, for Landlubbers and Kayakers!

When: Saturday, 10/26/19. Primary CITO at the ramp from 7:00am to 8:00am.

Secondary CITO along the nearby Blue Springs Run, from 8:00am to 10:00am

Where: Starks Landing, at the end of W French Ave, past Blue Springs State Park

Did Elton have it right, all along?

Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me I could honestly say
That things can only get better

And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide

Why, indeed, do they call it the blues? Could it be because folks like me get to feeling blue, when we see that others have trashed Momma Nature? Or could it be because of the crystal clear waters, coming out of the main boil, with blue being the default color used to describe water? Perhaps a bit of both? Either way, the Spring, and the ramp, need our help. Let's meet up at Starks Landing, at 7:00am, and clean up around the ramp. Then, at about 8:00am, we'll splash boats and make the short paddle up Blue Springs Run. We will focus on the trash along the banks of the run, and on the bottom. Swimming is allowed, so you might want to bring a mask, fins and snorkel, so you can reach the trash that is beyond the reach of grabbers. If you plan on doing this, add a tow rope to your kayak, so you can tie it off, or have another kayaker tow it.

I will supply the trash bags. For you kayakers, don't forget your PFD, whistle, sunscreen, and water.

Hope to see you there!
