Geocache Description:

Dr. Evil's Face Your Fears series of caches will highlight common phobias (fears) that many people have towards common everyday things or objects.  Some phobias are steeped in years of conditioning and survival instinct.  Some fears come from childhood experiences.  Some fears are just irrational but cause anxiety and reaction nonetheless.  Dr. Evil thought it would be interesting to create some caches just to see how cachers react to certain phobias.  Each of the caches are designed to exploit, expose, and trigger a phobia response (assuming the cacher has that phobia).  Many cachers will have no issues with these caches and some may decide to just DNF and walk away.  Dr. Evil may add to the series from time to time as he gets a notion to.  Good luck facing your fears!

This cache is Ophidiophobia which is the fear of snakes.  This fear is the second most common fear in the world.  It is reported that nearly 1/3rd of adult humans are believed to have an intense fear of snakes (grown men in high pitched screaming comes to mind).  Snakes have always had myths associated with them, and these myths are a large factor in why humans fear snakes.  Add in the fact that some species of snakes are deadly poisonous, and you have something to fear.  Many believe that the fear of snakes is both an evolutionary trait as well as a learned behavior.

Symptoms of Ophidiophobia may include a rapid heart rate, dizziness, hot or cold flashes, chest pain or tightening of the chest, a feeling of choking, trembling, sweating, nausea, or inability to think or act rationally.  Many will run away screaming.  For individuals with an extreme case even just talking or thinking about snakes can trigger a response (hiss...hiss).

For this cache you will have to Face Your Fear.  Cache is a micro container guarded by over a dozen….well you should know by now.  Bmzdaddy insisted the I remind all seekers that while some of the guardians are not real, there very well could be some that are very much real.  Many slithering "freinds" have been spotted in this area by Bmzdaddy.   GZ is about 50 feet wide so the coordinates will lead you to a tree where one of the guardians hangs.  The actual cache container is within 35 feet of the the hanging guardian.   Good luck (insert Dr. Evil laugh)!

Please stay out out of the maintenance area. Terrain is rated at 3.5 due to the average terrain one would encounter in route to the cache. There are some ways that may be easier than a 3.5 terrain, and there are some ways that are a 5 terrain depending on your path. Choose wisely.
