ST JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH.
The original church was built in 1849 and the original land owner John Harvey purchased the land in 1847.and conveyed it to the Church of England in 1850.So it is likely the original church was built in 1849.
This is one of the oldest standing Church Buildings in South Australia and is of historical value.
The 2nd and more impressive church was designed by architect Daniel Garlick and it's foundation stone was laid in 1858 but not officially opened until 1865 due to lack of funds. a fire destroyed majority of this in 1989 and was repaired..Today you can see a newer church that has been built and attached to this. I had wanted to use this second church church but as was unable to locate foundation stone am using info from original church.
There is and old cemetery between the original Church and the 2nd and current Church.
Please be respectful during Church services here and be aware this area can be very muggle friendly at times.
