Cathedral of Pines Maze Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

WGA2: I noticed that this cache has remained temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of ‘a few weeks’ as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. For now, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact me at the below e-mail address when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past.

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Located in the Nicolet National Forest. Park @ N45 17.427, W88 33.916. Take a moment to read up on the history of this location at the parking spot. Don't forget to mark your original coordinates, as finding your way back can be quite difficult with the maze of trails.

I suggest making a run for this cache sometime early in the morning as the light begins to filter through the tree canopy; the light is very ethereal. After finding the cache, take some time to wander through this area; the flora and fauna are absolutely breathtaking. Few places can make us feel so small in the realm of nature.

The cache is an ammo can, painted brown.

I've called this a maze cache because once you are through the "Cathedral," there is a myriad of paths that loop around and back onto each other. You can get spun around here quite easily, so I suggest bringing a compass along.

Upon finding the cache; prior to extraction, analyze how the cache is hidden, get an image of what is around it in your minds eye. Please return the cache to this exact position. It is a bit tricky getting the cache to how it is, so be delicate removing it, and replacing it.

This is a dog friendly cache! Please pick up after them. This is a kid friendly cache!
