Geocache Description:

This cache was hidden in conjunction with DST - Going Back for Seconds (GC8F0YM). A cache was once in this same area but this new cache has a different container and location.

This cache takes you to Aurora's largest park, Phillip's Park, which spans over 325 acres. A little over 100 feet West of ground zero you will find a scenic man-made waterfall that is in operation during the summer months. This waterfall provides a nice backdrop for photos.

Phillip's Park features a waterfall, an 18-hole golf course, an aquatic center, a skate park, ice-skating rink, sledding hill, a large playground area, a splash-pad, several picnic areas, a "sunken garden" and a zoo that is home to several North American animals. In addition, a welcome center features fossils of pre-historic Mastodons. During the 1930's, Mastodon bones were found in the park during a lake excavation at the park. This lake is known as Mastodon Lake. There is a walking path that encircles the lake. A playground is located on the island and informational signs which are scattered about provide a lesson on Mastodon bones.
