Geocache Description:

Another quick multi in the "Early Settlers" series.

This cache will take you to a few of the grave markers that belong to some of the prominent early families of Warren, OH.

As you look around at the markers, you'll notice a few interesting things like the fact that all three of these families were intertwined through marriage and children.

The family markers you'll be visiting belong to the Perkins family, the Kinsman family, and the Pease family.

The Perkins family is a notable Warren family. Henry Bishop Perkins was the patriarch of the family here and the owner of the Perkins Mansion that now serves as Warren City Hall. His father, Simon Perkins, accompanied John Kinsman on his first trip to the Connecticut Western Reserve.

The Kinsman family are relatives and therefore namesakes of Kinsman and Kinsman Township in northeast Trumbull county.

The Pease family buried here was led by patriarch of the family, the Honorable Calvin Pease, who served as a judge on the Court of Common Pleas of the Third Circuit when Ohio gained its statehood, then later became a representative in the Ohio State Legislature, as well as a State Senator in the State Congress. He later served for 14 years as a justice in the Ohio Supreme Court.

This is a pretty quiet little corner of the cemetery, so you shouldn't be bothered by anyone while you're here.

The gates to the cemetery are electronically controlled and close at the first sign of darkness, so please keep an eye on the sky and don't get yourself locked in.

Please remember no night caching, and be respectful of the grounds during your visit.
