"Sampson School had 2 rooms with a big pot-bellied stove in each. The school was big and drafty, and there were three grades in one room and 4 in the other. There were about 20 kids in each room and some years one or more grades wouldn't have but two or three students. Back about 1938 Sampson School closed when small community schools began to consolidate. After closing, the two-room school was used for a meeting place and political rally center for several years, and finally after the war, someboy bought it and the property, and nothing was left but a memory." Excerp from the book "Tales From The 1930's" by Gene Warren. Thank you to Martin for the info. The cache is across the street from the school location.
