#11 in the Newport Canal series
Gannet Canal gives water access to odd houses on Enterprise Court and all houses on Rainbow Court. Deep water access is via Albatross canal for small craft only under the Kay Cottee bridge out to Moreton Bay.
Enterprise was a J-Class yacht designed by William Starling Burgess, which was the successful defender for the New York Yacht Club in the 1930 America's Cup race. Burgess was an American yacht designer, aviation pioneer and naval architect, who was awarded the highest prize in aviation, the Collier Trophy in 1915 for his hydro-aeroplane. In 1933, he designed and built the radical Dymaxion car featuring prominently at Chicago's 1933/1934 World Fair. Between 1930 and 1937, Burgess created 3 America's Cup winning J-Class yachts - Enterprise, Rainbow and Ranger. Enterprise was scrapped in 1935.
The Australasian gannet (Morus serrator), is a large seabird of the booby and gannet family,Sulidae. Adults are mostly white, with black flight feathers at the wingtips and lining the trailing edge of the wing. The central tail feathers are also black. The head is tinged buff-yellow, with a pale blue-grey bill edged in black, and blue-rimmed eyes. These birds are plunge divers and spectacular fishers, plunging into the ocean at high speed. They eat mainly squid and forage fish that school near the surface.
You are looking for a small squarish container with a bright lid at the base of a tree. Room for small swaps but no pen. Use your geocaching stealth as always.
Congratulations to Brislions for FTF!!
