During the months of ±November to ±March each summer, the towns of Upington and Pofadder are flooded by drivers and other officials from the most leading car manufacturing companies. They come with various masked and disguised future models of their own and competitive cars.
Apart from Audi, who have their own test track near Pofadder, the most of these cars are tested, under extreme heat conditions and with the approval of the Government, on the open roads in our part of the world.
As this sign warns, one must be aware that a car could pass you at up to 250km/h on this road.
