Hey all!
This cache was hidden on 10/27/2019. I am writing this update on 11/09/2020. My intent for this cache was to propose to my girlfriend. After several years of dating, it was the time. I had her father's blessing, and then it was time to plan this out. I placed this small sized cache where it should still be at the time you are reading this.
On 11/09/2019, she and I came to this park after a long day of doing other adventurous activities, including geocaching in other nearby places. We then came to beautiful Lapham Peak, hiking the trails, finding other caches. My friend was lurking near the observation tower, setting up a display that I asked him to assemble at the top floor of the tower. As it neared sunset, my friend texted me saying that the display was ready. I lead my girlfriend to this cache. She found it, with a little nudge here and there. The message that I wrote inside the cache advised us to go to the top of the tower before logging the find. We then walk up the several flights of stairs. I led the way, in order to get ready to take a knee as she saw the display. Then it hit her. She realized what was going on as I dropped to my knee and asked her to marry me. Well friends, she said yes. 11/09/2019.
Fast forward to June of 2020, and I am now married to my best friend. She is the one who introduced me to this great hobby. I wanted to update the community, so you all can see what an impact geocaching has been for us. I truly hope that you enjoy this cache and the great view that we have seen so many times together.
The original description of this cache is below. I kept it so you can see what my wife saw the day we got engaged.
This is one of my favorite parks, and I figured that this would be the perfect place for my first cache. This cache is easy enough to find to be considered a grab and go, and you should be able to find this in any season. Although this isn't a two part cache, follow the instructions inside the cache to a second location before you log that you've found it. It will bring you to a great place to watch a sunset.
Permission was given for this geocache to be placed here by Ksicinski from the DNR.
