This is the 3rd placement on a cache in this park. The first 2 places went down besause of city maintenance. Found a good place in the park for the cache. Have permission to hide caches in city parks per city manager and the mayor. In fact the mayor asked me to place more caches on the east side of the city.
There are plenty of interesting things in this park. The huge conglomerate rock has a benchmark in it. There are plaques and statues. In one of the bushes there is a bronze plaque talking about the former governor Higgins mansion. The plaque is wrong, states about 100 ft south but in reality it was 200 ft SW of the plaque. I recall the place before the city tore it down for a parking lot. A farmers market area was recently built and it is easy to spot, really big. Im thinking there are restrooms in the structure. A giant bell on the west side of the park. Maybe other features. Back in the 1800's that land was set aside for a city park. Open 24/7. Hope you not only go after the cache but check out my favorite city park.
