Geocache Description:

15 December 2019, 15:00 - 16:00

The holidays will be here before you know it, and with them one of my favorite parts of the season-- COOKIES!

Here are the ingredients:

DATE: Sunday, December 15, 2019
TIME: 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
LOCATION: Oakland Terrace Park, 1900 W. 11th Street, Panama City

How exactly does the cookie exchange work? It's pretty simple. Just bake three (3) dozen cookies and bring 'em to the event!   A few notes:

  • Please bring three (3) dozen of the same type. That way, people won't feel like they missed something. ("Hey, did you try the red-and-green vanilla squares from cacher X?" "Uh no, I thought she made the sugar-dusted gingerbread stars!")
  • Place your cookies in Ziploc bags; to be specific, bring twelve (12) bags containing three (3) cookies each. Label the outside of the bags with your caching alias and cookie name, along the lines of "Gryffindor3: No-Bake Scotchies."
  • If you feel comfortable sharing your cookie recipe with others, bring some recipe cards with your recipe. One of the best parts of a cookie exchange is seeing what went into each creation, and then re-creating them later.
  • Nonparticipants are welcome, but in the best of Geocaching traditions, this is a "bring something, take something" deal.  Please only take cookies if you bring cookies, and only take as many cookies as you brought.
  • I know everyone is busy, but the preference is for homemade cookies, not store-bought or prepared dough cookies. We're looking for original work here.
  • Why three (3) dozen? Because we don't want people to stress out! If we asked folks to bring one dozen for each attendee and 24 cachers signed up, you'd need to bake a whopping 288 cookies! Better to go with a small number and use any extra time to go caching.

EDIT:  If you include in your “Will Attend” post how many elementary and younger kids you are bringing with you, we will supply sugar cookies, cookie decorating materials, and teenage helpers to help them decorate the cookie of their dreams.
