The Spencer Meadows Trail is in the shadow of Lassen Volcanic National Park. This 13-mile semi-loop has all the necessary elements for a great hike: cool forests, flower-dotted meadows, a tumbling stream with a waterfall, and far-ranging views. Winter snows could complicate the search.
