My first letterbox geocache hybrid! Out east today with Ogus looking for a good location to hide this letterbox, I decided we should try this pretty little preserve, as there are unfortunately no longer any other caches hidden here. (I feel like there used to be...) After grabbing a DELICIOUS cup of hot apple cider along our route, we parked in the lot, bundled up since it was so cold today (we actually saw some very light snow flurries!!), and set off with letterbox in hand to try to find a good place to hide it. Sure enough, after a cold, but enjoyable walk, we found the spot we were looking for!
There is NO ink pad in the cache, so please be sure to bring your own! (Sorry, I was worried it would just dry out in the coming cold weather of winter.) I recommend black ink, but you could always choose whatever color makes you happiest. Also, BYOP to sign the logbook. There are some small items for trade in the cache, although obviously the stamp is not for trade. Please be sure to re-hide this one well when you are finished, as it's not too far off of the trail. I hope you enjoy your time in the preserve, the hunt for the cache, and the hand-carved stamp awaiting you inside!
Happy caching!!
