Picnic Tables at Peggy Banfield Park, Bushland Beach.
In the 2 months around Christmas whilst visiting America I set and achieved a number of geocaching goals.
As some of the local caching community will be heading to Seattle for Geocaching's 20th birthday I'd like to share my experience.
Geocaching is full of statistics. I think of these as 'Easter Eggs' - The hidden secrets, the games within the game.
Geographically some of these statistic challenges are, well very, very challenging.
Whilst in the States.......
- I completed my 'placed on' finds calendar.
- I collected 401 finds in a day on the ET (Extra Terrestrial) highway in Nevada.
- I found several caches below sea level in Death Valley, California.
- I obtained the highest rank in Project GC's (Kyle's Badge Gen) belt system.
- I visited Seattle and Portland to collect the Holy Trinity - Geocaching HQ for my 3000 find, the Original Stash Plaque and the Project Ape cache.
- I completed HQ's GeoTour.
- I completed my Jasmer (find a cache placed every month since caching began in May 2000 - No easy feat when Australia is missing 4 months and there's only 4 remaining caches placed in July 2000 in the world).
My goals for 2020 are.....
- Make some finds today on the leap year.
- To reach a 100 day streak, all being well on the 7th of March (sadly there aren't enough caches in Townsville to make it to 365).
- To fill my daily calendar, all being well on the 10th of March.
- Collect 1000 finds in a year. I'm well on the way with 535 at the end of January however new hides or some travel will be required for this one.

So let's celebrate milestones and chat about goals.
