This cache was placed in memory of saz2, a geocacher who was a staple in SE Massachusetts since he started caching in 2013. Ceasar, or "Saz" as he was commonly known amongst geocaching friends, was notoriously difficult to beat out on any local FTFs and would stop at almost nothing to solve certain puzzle caches, often bringing pages of notes about puzzles with him to events and not leaving until he got the information he needed. Having attended more than 100 events, including a large number of events bearing the SEMAG name during his time geocaching, his name was well known in the community. We and several others cached with him a number of times and can say that he would do just about anything to claim a smiley on any cache, regardless of the thorns, bushwhacking or wading through water that would stand in his way!
Saz passed away on the evening of November 10th after a battle with ALS. He will surely be missed in the community, and the FTF race in the area may never be the same again.
This cache is placed at the end of Stone Bridge in Tiverton. Enjoy a nice walk from the parking lot for Grinnell's Beach to seek it out. There is a nearly 100% chance that Saz would have claimed FTF on this cache if it was hidden and published when he was in his prime, and the spot seemed fitting for a cache placed in his name. Hope you enjoy, and hope Saz can rest easy as well.
