Penang Island is known as a hiking hotspot to those of us who love the outdoors! The island is filled with well maintained and marked trails that cater to all levels of fitness. I noticed that quite a few of these trails didn't have any geocaches nearby so we are out to slowly fix that! Thanks to @rzinger who is also placing caches along some of these hikes.
This specific trail goes from the entrance of Penang's botanical gardens (which is a beautiful walk on its own!), up some well maintained jungle steps through outstanding scenery, to a rest station area at the top. This rest station has bathrooms, running water, picnic tables etc.
If you like to follow a hiking trail app, i highly recommend following this specific hike, which will lead you up the 1500 steps to the cache site! If you come back the way you went up (many little side trails down will all head up in the botanical gardens) you are having a lovely 3km hike total.

To find the cache, go into the rest station itself and there is a staircase in the back. Go down that staircase, then go straight into the jungle a dozen steps until you see a tree that came down across you, then look to the right a ways. It's hanging off the ground. Large black bison tube. This is a new location after the previous one went missing.
