Hauptmann Alfred Horn was the pseudonym used by Deputy Reichsfuhrer Rudolf Hess when he parachuted into Scotland on the night of the 10th May 1941. The landing site was near https://coord.info/GC10262 . Following his capture by the Giffnock Home Guard, he was brought to the Scout Hall, which was being used as the Unit's Headquarters at that time. Thereafter, he was taken to Giffnock Police Station and then Maryhill Barracks. Even if Camp 660 https://coord.info/GC7XY6X had been in operation at the time, it is doubtful that he would have been taken there, due to the initial low security of the PoW camp.
Instead, Hess was moved to Buchanan Castle, near Loch Lomond. From there, he was moved to the Tower of London and then to a fortified mansion outside London.
What of the Scouts?
Well, the 28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scouts have been extant since 1912, following a meeting in February of that year which determined that a Scout Troop should be formed.
Later, a Cub Pack was added and now Beavers and Explorer Scouts attend as well.
