When I finished my canoe trip, we came across this spot and I thought it needed a cache. You can try this without any tools of the trade, but it will be harder. If you bring scuba gear, you will need to stash it in the cave before you begin the steep climb. WARNING if you leave scuba gear, be sure to leave a jacket or something on it. The smell will discourage mountain LIE ONS away. We have had trouble with them sharpening their claws on the sides of the tanks. If you bring climbing gear, 300 feet of rope will be more than sufficient.
I must confess, I was not able to put this cache out by myself. I had great help from my buddy Frankly Untruth.
You may have a little trouble with the GPS signal. The towering cliffs can sometimes mess with the signal.
Do NOT bring a ladder longer than 14 feet because you will have trouble when you go under the waterfall on the way out. (Note: The way in is less than 7 miles, but the way out is 13 miles, and carrying a long ladder will tire you out)
