Geocache Description:

Many of us grow up listening to country music, which is also known as country and western, and hillbilly music. It is a genre of popular music that originated in the Southern United States in the early 1920s. It takes its roots from genres such as American folk music and blues.

John R. "Johnny" Cash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was a singer-songwriter, guitarist, actor, and author. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 90 million records worldwide.  His genre-spanning songs and sound embraced country music, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk and gospel.  This crossover appeal won Cash the rare honor of being inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.

While being hospitalized at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Cash died of complications from diabetes around 2:00 am CT on September 12, 2003, at the aged of 71—less than four months after his wife. He was buried next to her in Hendersonville Memory Gardens in Hendersonville, TN.
