Long live THE MAN!
Gene Porter ran "Dixie's Bar-B-Que" with his namesake wife Dixie from 1994 until he passed away in 2010. He would wander through the dining area with a pot of what was usually described as insanely hot sauce and ask, "Have you met the Man?" or "Wanna Meet the Man?"
"The Man" showed up on bumper stickers but was never bottled. Dixie's carried on after Gene's death with Dixie and son in charge but as of the time of this hide it has recently closed. If you didn't meet the man, you missed him. He was legendary and even made TBTL Radio Show Producer Jen "Flash" Andrews cry on air. I once heard "The Man" described as taking a blowtorch to both ends of your digestive system. Yeah, "The Man" was the real deal.
