Geocache Description:

29 February 2020, 18:30 - 20:00

Event starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 8pm, but same may stay longer as it's a Saturday night this time!

The Event attenders will qualify for the Official Geocaching Sovenir and a chance of some geocaching prizes on the night...FTF draw will take place at 7.15pm for those in attendance by then... Names in the hat by 7pm if you want to be one of the winners!

We are planning to gather with other geocachers who may also be waiting impatiently to log on this date. The opportunity only arises every four years and that blank square on the grid may be annoying some cachers who started caching since 2016...

We hosted this event four years ago at this venue which has hosted similar gatherings in the past. While there is no obligation to purchase anything, food will be available until 9pm, and drinks will be readily available before, during and after the official event times...!

Location is easily accessible from the M50 and there is plenty of parking at GZ. Dublin bus route 16 passes right outside the door

Check out the song of the title!

In England and Wales, the legal birthday of a “leapling” is March 1.

Occasionally, we have to skip a regularly scheduled leap year. This happens during specific century years. Century years are not leap years unless they can be evenly divided by 400. Years 1700, 1800, and 1900 were not leap years; however, years 1600 and 2000 were.
When 2/29 is entered into a majority of websites, online forms, or online surveys, it comes up as an invalid birth date.
US Presidential elections as well as the Summer Olympic Games are both held every four years and occur during a leap year.
In Greece, people believe it is bad luck to get married in a leap year.

Conversely, in Ireland, women can propose to a man during a leap year. The next February 29 will come around again in 1,460 days.

We had a very special event occurrence here the last time but cannot guarantee there'll be a proposal this time...just saying...!
