Oder: ein ganz normaler Tag im Leben eines Geocachers. In aller Frühe klingelt der Wecker, um einen neuen dosenreichen Cachetag einzuläuten. Zunächst einmal geht es runter in die Küche, um die Kaffeemaschine anzuwerfen. Während nun der Kaffee fröhlich vor sich hin köchelt lässt sich der direkte Weg in das Badezimmer einschlagen. Auf dem Weg wird gleich erst einmal das Smartphone gecheckt, ob nicht vielleicht eine Mail mit neuen Caches in der Gegend eingegangen ist.
Perfekt, nichts neues. Also kann der Tag wie am Abend vorher ausführlich geplant angegangen werden. Nach dem Duschen und Zähne putzen wird die Ausrüstung für den Tag noch einmal kontrolliert. Magnetheber, UV-Licht, Greifarme, Angel, Seile, Kletterausrüstung und Teleskopleiter und sonstige Kleinigkeiten sind bereit und werden im Rucksack verstaut. Kaffee wird in den Thermobecher und in die Thermoskanne für unterwegs abgefüllt. Brötchen auf die Hand und die komplette Ausrüstung und Verpflegung wird im Auto verstaut.
Los geht es in Richtung Autobahn.
Auf dem Weg in den Süden der Republik werden die Caches auf dem Weg ebenfalls eingesammelt. Anhalten, suchen, finden, loggen und zurück auf die Piste. Es verläuft bisher alles nach Plan und so liegen wir gut in der Zeit. Am Ziel angekommen, geht es los.
Die erste Station des Tagesmultis ist schnell gefunden. Auf dem Weg zur nächsten Station ist noch ein Klettercache. Dieser wird eben auch noch gesucht. Ausrüstung ausgepackt, das Seil eingebaut, hoch, loggen und wieder runter. Glücklich und zufrieden über diesen Fund ist Station zwei auch bald gefunden. Bei Station drei erst einmal dran vorbeigelaufen und danach aber schnell erledigt. Nach dreiundzwanzig weiteren Stationen sind alle Informationen für das Finale zusammengesammelt. Nur noch richtig rechnen und einem Besuch der Dose steht nichts mehr im Wege. Oh, auf dem Weg ist noch ein Angelcache, der wird natürlich nicht ausgelassen. Das Final ist erreicht und das Logbuch signiert.
Heimwärts fahrend werden noch ein paar Landkreise angefahren. Am späten Abend wird das Auto abgestellt und nach einem kleinen Snack, wird der folgende Tagesausflug geplant.
Kurz vor dem Zubettgehen landet noch eine Publish-Mail im Postfach.

Or: a quite normal day in the life of a geocacher. The alarm clock rings early in the morning and we are getting up for a new cache day full of boxes. First of all, we are going down to the kitchen to start the coffee machine. While the coffee is cheerfully brewing, you can make your way directly to the bathroom. On the way, the smartphone is checked initially to see whether a mail announcing new caches in town has arrived.
Perfect, nothing new. So, we can start the day as planned the evening before. After showering and brushing the teeth, the equipment for the day is checked once again.
Magnetic lifter, UV light, gripper arms, fishing rod, ropes, climbing equipment and a telescopic ladder and other small items are ready and will be stored in the daypack. Coffee is filled into the thermo mug and into the thermos flask for the trip. Some Buns on the hand and the complete equipment as well as food is stowed in the car.
We started and went directly to the highway.
On the way to the south of the German Republic, the caches along the route are also visited. Stop, search, find, log and back to the track. So far everything is going according to plan and we are well in time. Arriving the final destination, we are ready to go. The first station of the multi cache of the day is found quickly. On the way to the next station there is a climbing cache. We are looking for it as well. Equipment unwrapped, rope fixed, up to the cache container, log and down again. Happy and satisfied about this find Station Two is found soon. We first passed station three accidently, but then it was done quickly. After the twenty-three other stations, all the information for the final has been gathered. Just a little bit of calculating and visiting the final box is all that is left. Oh, on the way there is a fishing rod cache, which of course will not be omitted. The final is found, and the logbook signed.
Driving home a few more counties are visited. In the late evening the car is parked and after a small snack, the following day trip will be planned.
