Geocache Description:

The Lower Hillmorton Road to Abbey Street part of the Great Central way has been recently adopted by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Having been left wild by RBS for many years this area is being to be cleared to encourage the growth of Ferns and smaller plants and also to give the larger trees room to grow.  This also helps the wildlife, by piles of wood and sticks being left for insects, pools being cleared to allow water to flow also encourages the insect lift and new growth of water plants.  This intern helps small mammals, birds, deer who are all regular visitors.   The path has been recovered with a compound made of recycled china, making it hard wearing but also able to absorb water which helps set the surface as the china of ground down by walking and cycling, improving the access to the entire 2 mile stretch from Abbey Street to Onley Lane.

Abandoned after The ‘Beaching Cuts’ in 1969 this area became a wildlife refuge cutting through the town.  Now forming part of cycle path 41, the embankment is used again to travel as well as still be a very important wildlife refuge.  Going south you are entering Rugby Central Station.  2 of the platforms are the patch you will walk along.

You're looking for a clip lock sandwich box, Swops, log & a pen. Please leave the pen!

This Cache has been placed with the kind permission of Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
