"Hiirola on Mikkelin kaupunkiin kuuluva kylä (leikkikoulut), noin 15 kilometriä Mikkelistä pohjoiseen. Kylän ohitse kulkee Pieksämäentie, jota pitkin kulkee autolla noin 15 - 20 minuutissa (nopeus) Mikkelin keskustaan. Kylää halkoo myös rautatie, joskaan (kesäiset) junat eivät pysähdy Hiirolassa."
