This series, Energy Drilling, focuses on the breadth of knowledge required in the planning, design, and execution of wellbore drilling. The scope of this series is what a traditional Petroleum Engineer may practice, which may include hydrocarbons (oil and gas), unique targets like helium or carbon dioxide, geothermal wells, and injection wells (carbon sequestration).
The posted coordinates is a location of a geothermal well nearby to Penola, drilled into Mesozoic sedimentary rocks. Unfortunately, there were complications found during the well testing, and the well was suspended for further research and understanding. It is believed that fines migration has induced formation damage, affecting the well's capability to flow.
The first step is to identify the well name - Unfortunately there isn't any information at the posted coordinates anymore (as of early 2020), so you will need to conduct a little research prior to your visit. Once you know the well, find out its final total depth (in metres), and let this be ABCD.
