This small but tranquil garden in the heart of Norwich was a bequest by Laura Stuart widow of James Stuart of Carrow Abbey, in memory of her late husband.
The James Stuart Gardens were designed by Edward Boardman but not completed and dedicated until after World War 1 in 1922.
Constructed of red brick and stone, this single storey building has a pantile roof. There is a round pediment above the gateway arch, with a shield surrounded by scrolls and flanked by festoons, as well as wrought-iron gates.
The memorial is Grade II listed.
