Geocache Description:

If you are hoping to grab an easy Church Micro Geocache, do not continue reading, pray to your God and pretend you never opened this listing. Nobody will ever know...

If you still decide to come and search, you will find yourself on the Saint-Antoine Pécrot church grounds, but be aware that Saint Anthony of Padua (who gave his name to this church) has cursed a spell on any intruder of these holy grounds.

Various legends surround the death of Anthony. One holds that when he died, the children cried in the streets and that all the bells of the churches rang of their own accord. Another legend regards one of his eyes. Anthony is buried in a chapel within the large basilica built to honour him, where one of his eyes is displayed for veneration in a large reliquary along with his jaw and his vocal cords. When his body was exhumed 30 years after his death, it was found turned to dust, but the eye was claimed to have glistened and looked as if it were still alive and moist!

Centuries later, Pope John Paul II authorized a scientific team to study the saint's remains and the tomb was opened. To everyone astonishment, the eye had dissapeared from the tomb. People believed that the eye had turned evil over centuries...

This evil eye is a curse that is cast by a malevolent glare, given to any person that is unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye will cause misfortune or injury.

You have been warned, it is not too late to return…
