Grand Avenue in northern Downtown Los Angeles delineates the Bunker Hill and Civic Center neighborhoods. From the Music Center at the northwest corner of First Street and Grand Avenue, a half-mile (0.8 km) walk to the east will lead you through the 12-acre (4.9 ha) Grand Park and past several government buildings ending at Los Angeles City Hall, while a half-mile (0.8 km) walk to the south will take you past music halls, art museums, the world's shortest railway, the tallest buildings west of the Mississippi River, ending at Los Angeles Central Library at the bottom of Bunker Hill.
