This cache is placed beside a quiet back-road not too far off the Midland Highway.
One of the advantages of taking the "scenic route" is the increased opportunities for spotting some of Tasmania's diverse wildlife. On the day we placed the cache we spotted echidnas, wallabies, wombats, a couple of impressive birds of prey, and even a mob of emus1 (see the reference point).
Always keep an eye out - you'll never know what you'll spot!
[1] Update, July 2020: on a recent maintenance run we noticed there were no longer any emus in the paddock we'd previously spotted them in. Whether they've been moved to a different paddock or have been removed altogether remains a mystery, unfortunately.
