Geocache Description:

You are looking for an ammo can in beautiful Salt Point.

Salt Point is more than an exit off the Taconic State Parkway.  It is a peaceful, rural community that doesn’t even have a traffic light (except when long-term construction closes a bridge down to one lane). Some say Salt Point got its name because it was a place to have a 'salty pint'. Others say it was the place where cows on their way to market in Poughkeepsie were fed salt and then allowed to drink from the nearby Wappinger Creek to make them heavier and fetch a higher price.

Cache is placed with the permission of the property owner.  Please limit your searching to daylight hours. Cache is accessible from the road side of the fence.
