If you look up the long laneway you will see my childhood home and farm. This farm has been in the My family for over 100 years. My father was born on this farm and lived here his whole life. I also grew up here for the first 25 years of my life. My parents still live here and we celebrate all the traditional family holiday festivities here. So this is still "HOME" to me. At the beginning of the 1900's this was originally a "Jack of all trades" farm with all forms of animals and crops...Cows, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, horses, dogs, cats etc. You name it.... it lived here. And the 100 acres the farm sits on has been planted with corn, beans, wheat, hay etc, and there was often a huge veggie garden. In later years it became focused on Dairy Cattle and It remained dedicated to the production of Dairy Milk until 1992 when the cows and dairy quota were sold, and the farm then became focused on the production of various types of crops over the years. It has had a few different types of animals come and go since then, but the main focus has been the fields and the crops. In the midst of all this history, one of my most precious memories occurred here. In 2004 I married my husband right in front of the house. Oddly enough we actually got married standing in the back of our 1978 Ford F150 4X4 parked right there in the middle of the lawn.
