This is the second hide for this cache as it was muggled while I was relocated out of the area due to work. I'm now back in the area and able to maintain the cache. The cache is located near the top of a grassy sloped hill. There is a set of sleepers crisscrossed to allow easy access over a wire fence. From GZ you can walk down the hill and to the right towards the Mt Evelyn football field, walk over the hill and you are heading towards Silvan Dam.
The reason for choosing this location for my first cache site:
In April 2008 I participated a well known 100km’s walk within 48 Hours or less challenge/fundraiser. By the time I reached this point I had walked approximately 70Km’s (only 30Km’s to go I hear you say! ha). Climbing these steps followed by the steep decent took all my willpower to continue. You learn a lot about yourself when you participate in challenges such as this. Willpower and team spirit come in to play.
Well I hit the wall (in mental terms) and walked through it. All my team mates and I completed the 100Km’s in 32 hours and 8 minutes. We achieved our goal of getting the entire team over the line and helped a worthy course at the same time. I must be nuts as I'm thinking of doing the challenge again next year.
