Geocache Description:

18 January 2020, 08:00 - 10:00

Join us on Saturday January 18th from 8:00 AM to 10:00AM at Titlow Park as the Cool Cow Cachers host our first CITO event of 2020!

Our first CITO event at McKinley Park was a big success but it got us to thinking. There are currently 124 active geocaches within 41 different Tacoma Parks. (For those of you working on the Tacoma Black Cow Challenge, fully one third of the required caches are within a Tacoma Park.) We realized that for being such an integral part of the geocaching experience in Tacoma, the parks don't get nearly enough love from our community so we decided to do something about that.

In 2020 we've decided to hold a series of monthly CITO events. Each month we will visit a different park and some months we may even visit a couple of smaller parks during the day. Once per season, for the March, June, September and December events we will once again join forces with Metro Parks Tacoma for one of their regularly schedule volunteer work parties.

We will kick off the year at Titlow Park with an old fashioned style CITO. Meet at the picninc shelter at the posted coordinates where we'll provide hot beverages and morning treats to give you a little kick start. We'll provide trash bags and some grabbers but if you have your own by all means bring them. Between the park, the playground, the Hidden Beach trail and Lagoon Loop we should have plenty of work to keep us busy.

CITO can happen on every geocaching adventure, not just during events! Pick up trash that you see on the trail. Clean up the area around each geocache. These small acts make a huge difference.

This event is being hosted by a WSGA member. If you are a geocacher in the state of Washington, please consider joining Washington State Geocaching Association. See the WSGA website for details.
